Graduated in 1975 at the University of Utrecht in applied mathematics with physics (applied analysis, a problem in MAE, prof. W. Eckhaus).
PhD in 1979 at Eindhoven University of Technology in technical physics ("Edge Influence On The Response Of Shear Layers To Acoustic Forcing", prof. G. Vossers and prof D.G. Crighton, Leeds).
Worked at the National Aerospace Laboratory NLR on aero-acoustics and the acoustics of aircraft engines.
Worked at the University of Nijmegen, department of mathematics, on industrial mathematics.
Worked at the Eindhoven University of Technology, department of mathematics, on industrial mathematics in general and the acoustics of aircraft engines in particular.

Editor of the Journal of Engineering Mathematics.
